Description
The 1969 pickups that we offer are designed to replicate the sound of the original pickups that were used in Stratocasters from that era. These pickups are made with period correct Black Enamel Wire and Alnico 5 Staggered Magnets, which help to create a unique and distinctive sound that is different from other sets that we offer.
Compared to our ’54 or ’62 sets, the 1969 pickups have a slightly mellower sound in the highs, which gives them a warmer and more rounded tone. However, they still retain a bit of twang on the base side, which adds to their overall character.
One noticeable difference between the 1969 pickups and their earlier counterparts are the slightly less pronounced mids. While the earlier pickups had a more prominent midrange presence, the 1969 pickups have a more balanced and even sound across the frequency spectrum. This makes them a great choice for guitarists who want a classic Stratocaster sound that is versatile enough to handle a wide range of musical styles and genres.
Scatterwound to vintage specs and wax potted, but only to a degree to set the coil but still leave enough room for clarity and dynamics.
The middle pickup is RWRP to buck hum in positions 2 and 4. However we can, if you want, do it the Leo-way and leave all three pickups the same.
Comes with covers and mounting.
